Interview with Steve Ballmer

Posted by Karel Donk on Sunday, August 28th, 2005

About 3 months ago I found Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballmer, willing to do a small interview with me for a story which will be published in the fourth edition of a business magazine called “United”. United is being published in Holland and Suriname, and should be available in stores this week. Now that the story […]

Total Performance Scorecard

Posted by Karel Donk on Wednesday, August 17th, 2005

The past 2 days I’ve had the honor of being able to attend a workshop on Total Performance Scorecard (TPS) by Dr. Hubert Rampersad. TPS is a new management concept introduced by Dr. Rampersad which differs from all the other management concepts because of its holistic approach and because it introduces the importance of human […]

I’ve uploaded one of my old projects that I worked on about 10 years ago. It’s a fighting game based on ASCII characters. You can read more about it here.

Is there something wrong with Hector Ruiz?

Posted by Karel Donk on Sunday, August 14th, 2005

While examining the logs for my website, I found that people find my site by entering “what is wrong with hector ruiz” in a search engine. Which begs the question: Is there something wrong with Hector Ruiz? Something has to be up, since some people obviously are looking for an answer to that question on […]

Does the market decide the value? No!

The market can’t possibly decide for you what you should sell your product or service for. At most, the market can help you decide, or give you input on what they […]

Windows Vista Wallpaper

Posted by Karel Donk on Saturday, August 6th, 2005

I made some pictures this morning on my front yard which look a lot like the grass wallpaper in Windows Vista (Longhorn). They look nice as wallpaper in Windows Vista Beta 1.
Update (13/2/2006): I updated the pictures (removed the Windows Vista logo based on requests) and added extra large 8MP versions (for Bill Hill’s monitor […]

Testin’ la Vista loca!

Posted by Karel Donk on Saturday, August 6th, 2005

My download of the Windows Vista Beta 1 installation image (2.4GB) finally finished after roughly 2 weeks of downloading on my 2400 baud modem.
Why are you looking at me like that? Okay, I’m kidding about the modem but not about the 2 weeks. I have a 64kbps connection, so that’s why it takes so long. […]

Windows Media Player DRM Cracked

Posted by Karel Donk on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2005

It appears Windows Media Rights Management 10 has been cracked a while ago. However, it hasn’t been widely reported. Here are a few links, some of which have the tools:
Chris Lanier’s Blog
Engadget
Doom 9’s Forum
It appears using these tools you can unlock windows media player files (.WMV). However, it’s not easy to use.
